Send a Happier Harvest With These DIY Fall Slimline Cards

Have you ever heard of a slimline card? It’s the hottest thing in cardmaking right now — basically, they are cards small and thin enough to fit into a typical business envelope! Blog contributor Tina Kistinger decided to try them out for herself — check out these awesome DIY fall slimline cards!

Tina’s Inspiration:

Slimline cards are very popular right now, and I wanted to offer my take on the trend using the Hello, Autumn collection. These cards fit inside a business-sized envelope and there is more area to write meaningful thoughts and sentiments than standard-sized greeting cards.

To create these cards you’ll need:

Perfect Card

Step 1: Trim the Navy Solid Cardstock to 8-1/2″ x 7″.

Step 2: Score on the short side at 3-1/2″.

Step 3: Cut orange paper to 3″ x 8-1/2″ and navy weathered paper to 2-3/4″ x 8-1/2″.

Step 4: Mat the navy weathered paper over the orange paper and adhere to the card base.

Step 5: Adhere the foiled leaves to the card and adhere the “Perfect” embellishment using Foam Squares.

    1. I’m thinking that score at 3 1/2″ would be to make the fold (to fold it in half)? I’ll have to try it, I can’t visualize it right now.

    2. It’s the fold of the card –you know, when you open it. 3.5″ on the left and 3.5″ on the right. Hope this helps.

  1. Your cards are very elegant and nice. Thank you. Love this idea!! Nice to have more writing room and more surface on front of the card to be more creative.

  2. Love your examples. They are beautiful and make me want to try this size card. It seems with no pandemic visits with friends and families, a card is a perfect way to reach out. I’m not much of a “call on the phone” person. :-)

  3. We should start a new trend of “thinking of you” snail mail .. unless I’m behind the times I haven’t heard of this already being “a thing” 😁 thank you for sharing !
