Wild-flower For Crafting: Country Scrapbook Borders

Native flowers offer a splendid display along vast country plains, rolling meadows, long-distance highways, lovely lakefronts and mighty mountainsides — sprinkling the landscape in rainbow hues. And if you want to bring a bit of flower power to your layouts (especially when paired with the Wide Open Places collection!), then the Wildflowers Border Punch will bloom forth natural habitats of project perfection. Grow and go for it with these country scrapbook borders with wondrous wildflower designs!

Feelin’ Dandy Border

Step 1: Cut a piece of the countryside scenes designer paper to measure 12″ x 4″. 

Step 2: Using the Wildflowers Border Punch, punch a border using red paisley bandana paper. Cut to 2″ wide. Adhere to the bottom edge of the border.

Step 3: Using the Wildflowers Border Punch, punch a border using tan windmills designer paper. Cut to 1-3/4″ wide. Adhere to the bottom edge of the border.

Step 4: Layer the wheat stalks laser-cut border over the bottom edge of the wildflowers. 

Step 5: From the back, adhere a strip of the teal plaid designer paper to measure 12″ x 1″ so that it hangs 1/4″ from the bottom. 

Step 6: Adhere the wooden fence laser-cut border along the bottom of the border.

Step 7: Add the “Feelin’ dandy” sticker title.

Step 8: Use pen to dot along the “sun” trio to make them stand out.

Old Fashioned Things

Step 1: With the 12-inch Trimmer and the Wave Blade, cut a piece of red barn wood texture paper to measure 12″ x 2″ for the base of the border.

Step 2: Cut a piece of diamond plate metal designer paper to measure 12″ x 2″. Adhere near the top of the red barn wood piece, leaving 1/4” border along the top.

Step 3: Cut a piece of tan windmills designer paper to measure 12″ x 1/4″. Adhere along the bottom edge of the diamond plate metal paper.

Step 4: Using the Wildflowers Border Punch, punch a border from light teal dainty florals designer paper. Trim to 1-1/2″ wide. Adhere along the top edge of the tan windmills strip.

Step 5: Using the Wildflowers Border Punch, punch a border from teal plaid designer paper. Then use scissors to cut off the flowers. Adhere over the top of the previous light teal border.

Step 6: Using the Wildflowers Border Punch, punch a border from the tan windmills designer paper. Then use scissors to cut off a few of the flowers. Adhere flowers to the top of the light teal flowers sporadically.

Step 7: Adhere wagon wheel laser-cut border along the bottom edge of the border.

Step 8: Adhere a sticker for the title.

Step 9: Use Dual-Tip Pen to draw stitch marks along the edges of the border as shown.

Let’s Go on an Adventure

Step 1: Cut a piece of Hot Fudge Solid Cardstock to measure 3″ x 12″ for the base of the border.

Step 2: Cut a piece of corrugated tin texture paper to measure 2-3/4″ x 12″. Adhere to the border. 

Step 3: Cut two pieces from red tooled leather texture paper to measure 1/4″ x 12″. Adhere along both edges of the corrugated tin paper.

Step 4: Using Wildflowers Border Punch, punch two borders from teal plaid designer paper. Cut to measure 1-1/4″ tall using the 12-inch Trimmer and Wave Blade. Adhere vertically along both edges, leaving the red tooled leather strips showing under the wavy edges.

Step 5: Cut around a roped part of a variety mat, using a scissors to fussy-cut.

Step 6: Use the 12-inch Trimmer to cut 1-1/4″ from the edge. Adhere and layer along the left edge of the border.

Step 7: Cut a piece of tan windmills designer paper to measure 3″ x 2-1/4″. Round the corners on the right edge with the 2-Way Corner Rounder. Adhere as shown.

Step 8: Cut a the cowboy shirt pattern designer paper to measure 1″ x 2-1/4″. Round the right two corners with the 2-Way Corner Rounder. Adhere to the top layer as shown.

Step 9: Cut out out some wagon wheels from the laser-cut border and add a sticker for the title.
