Smooth Sailing with the By the Seashore Collection

Sea you on the water! There is nothing like a day on the water to refresh your spirit and fill up your camera roll. This sailboat-inspired layout uses the new By the Seashore collection to bring those breezy, maritime vibes straight to your pages. Grab your tools and let’s dive into these seaside layers.

To create this layout, you will need:

Step 1: Use a sheet of sailboats designer paper as the base for this layout. Cut a 12″ x 1-1/2″ strip with shiplap designer paper and adhere it to the bottom edge of the layout.

Step 2: Using the Waves edge of the CCS Border Cutting Tools and the red blade, cut six 12″ x 1/8″ strips of Baby Blue Cardstock. Set these aside for later.

Step 3: Gather the dark navy texture, blue plaid and baby blue designer papers. For each, cut a wavy edge, then rotate the tool to the opposite side and cut again. This creates hourglass shapes with the narrow spots measuring approximately 1/8″-3/16″ wide.

Step 4: Cut the hourglass “swells” apart into individual pieces. Adhere one row of various colored pieces along the edge of the shiplap strip, then layer a baby blue waves strip over both sides. Continue filling in the spots until you have five columns, as shown.

Step 5: Cut two 4″ x 6″ mats from dark navy texture designer paper and mount two 3-3/4″ x 5-3/4″ photos on top.

Step 6: Using the CCS circle patterns and the red blade, cut a blue plaid mat with the outside of the small circle pattern and a photo with the inside of the large circle. Mount the photo to the mat and adhere all matted photos on the layout as shown.

Step 7: Using the Embossed Scallop Shell Punch, punch shapes from shiplap designer paper, Baby Blue and Bright White Cardstock. Adhere them to the layout along with stickers, using foam squares on some for dimension.

Step 8: Journal as desired.
