Perhaps at some point in your life, you’ve entered into an engagement or milestone anniversary party, graduation get-together, retirement soiree or a friend’s birthday party (or maybe even your own!), only to be greeted by a celebratory sign, sparkling garland or jovial bunting banner to commemorate the day for the VIP, distinguished guest. No matter the special occasion, we’re inviting you into this silver and gold scrapbook layout that will add a distinguishing touch to your next project — it’s a celebration scrapbook idea that’s ready to party on!

Silver and gold birthday themed layout.

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Using the Circle Cutter, cut a 10.2″ circle with Bronze Shimmer Solid Cardstock. Without moving the cutter, unscrew the white sizing dial and carefully move the blue base of the circle cutter over to 10″. Tighten the sizing dial. Cut another circle, giving you a narrow ring. (Save the inner circle for Step 5.) Cut the ring in half to create two “strings.”

Step 2: Use the outer square of the Bronze Shimmer Solid Cardstock as the base for the layout.

Step 3: Cut a piece of white alternating oval stripes tonal paper to 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″. Adhere at an angle on the base. Cut an 11-1/2″ x 4″ piece with black asterisk cascade accent paper and adhere on the layout, about 1-1/2″ from the bottom of the white piece.

Step 4: Using the inside edge of the smallest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut eight circles with tonal papers and seven circles with accent papers. Fold each just over half, loop over the bronze shimmer “strings” and adhere closed. Adhere the “bunting banners” on the layout as shown.

Step 5: Cut a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece with gold diamond dashes accent paper and mount a 4″ x 6″ photo on it. Adhere on the layout. Using the outside edge of the smallest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Green Blade, cut a circle with the leftover circle of Bronze Shimmer Solid Cardstock (from Step 1). Using the Red Blade, cut a photo and mount on top. Using the inside edge of the largest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a circle with Bronze Shimmer Solid Cardstock. Using the Green blade, cut a photo and mount on top. Adhere photos on the layout as shown.

Step 6: Add embellishments and journal as desired.

  1. No parties planned for awhile, that I know about…buuutt….in one year a son turns 40, and, 41/2 more years we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! But, as for the latter, maybe someone could make the celebration pages for me, just in case…not getting any younger!! Anyway, the layouts are super awesome, thank you for sharing them and their construction and design plan! Somehow I have to figure out how to keep it!

  2. Love it. Next month is my 50th anniversary and will use it in my album. Thanks! ❤️❤️

  3. Beautiful layout and I love these papers and the bunting chains you made for the layout too!
