Connect Your Sentiments With These Blue Scrapbook Borders and DIY Card

As humans, we’re predisposed to crave connection, bonds and relationships — whether that be with our biological families, friends, romantic relationships or even with our beloved pets or nature. And you know what? As scrapbookers (while we do the abovementioned), we want our projects to connect and coincide together, whether that is a border to accent a pleasing partnership on a layout or a card to bring a little caring contact into someone’s life. If you’re ready to make a lovely connection between your spreads and crafts, check out these blue scrapbook borders and DIY card that feature the Wispy Chain Border Maker Cartridge!

To create these borders and card you will need:

Family Fun Border

Blue-themed circle scrapbook border.

Step 1: Using the Original Border Maker System with the Wispy Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border from light blue florals paper. 

Step 2: Using the Circle Punch, punch six circles from dark blue geometric trellis paper. Place a circle tucked behind the “wisp” with the ends, wrapped around the back of the circle.

Step 3: Cut six circles using the inside edge of the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern with the Green Blade from diamond tiles paper. Adhere on the back of the previously cut circles.

Step 4: Cut six circles using the inside edge of the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern with the Green Blade from light blue florals paper. Adhere behind and in between the previously cut circles.

Step 5: Adhere stickers and gems to the border.

Forever Friends Border

Blue-themed scrapbook border with different shades and designs of blue paper and a title.

Step 1: Cut a piece of any paper to measure 12″ x 2″. 

Step 2: Cut six pieces of various papers to measure 2” x 2”. Adhere to the border as shown. 

Step 3: Using the 12-inch Trimmer with the Wavy Blade, cut 1/4” from the top edge.

Step 4: Cut a piece of ombré paper to measure 12” x 2-3/4”. Put the previous strip along the bottom edge.

Step 5: Using the Original Border Maker System, punch a border using the Wispy Chain Border Makr Cartridge with dark blue smudges vellum paper. Adhere as shown with Vellum Tape Runner Refill.

Step 6: Cut a strip of ombré paper (the lighter shades) to measure 12” x 1/4”. Adhere along the top edge of the border.

Step 7: Cut a strip of dark blue brushstrokes paper to measure 12” x 1/4”. Adhere along the bottom edge of the border.

Step 8: Add Blue Ombre Serif ABC/123 Letter Stickers to say “forever friends” for the title.

Step 9: Adhere embellishments and gems.

My Hero Card

DIY card idea using blue paper and a title sticker that reads, my hero.

Step 1: Cut a piece of Blue Solid Cardstock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”. Score at 4-1/4”. Fold in half.

Step 2: Cut a piece of white grid paper to measure 5-1/4” x 4”. Adhere to the card.

Step 3: Using the Original Border Maker System with the Wispy Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch three borders from medium blue ornate tiles paper. 

Step 4: Cut three white florals strips that measure 3/4” x 7”. Weave through the wispy pieces at an angle. Adhere the borders/strips to a piece of wavy stripes paper, then cut down to measure 5-1/4” x 3-1/4”. Adhere to the card.

Step 5: Cut two pieces from dark blue geometric trellis paper to measure 1/4” x 5-1/4”.  Adhere along the top and bottom edges of the previous piece.

Step 6: Adhere a title sticker and gems.
