October 2023 Virtual Crop
Whooo is ready to brew up some wicked-cool projects during the October Virtual Crop?! You’re in for an extra treat for this month’s crop — not only will you get to enjoy the 4 sketch challenges the Home Office team has conjured up, but with the Halloween season upon us, we couldn’t resist adding a spooktacular Custom Paper Album CHALLENGE! Hopefully you’re not a scaredy cat and are ready to take all this on!

In this post, you will find ALL 4 sketches for this crop (these 4 sketches are for the entire weekend; no additional sketches will be posted), a downloadable PDF with the 4 sketches for your convenience, hashtags to use when posting your challenge layouts in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group, prize information and layout inspiration. This is about to be an amazing weekend and we can’t wait to see what you create!
To ensure we see all your submissions for the chance to win, you’ll want to post each layout you complete as its own new post with the hashtag for that challenge. You have until Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 11:59pm CT (AU: Wednesday, 18 Oct., at 3:59pm AEDT) to submit your layouts for the chance to win a prize (more details on what you can win further down this post!). We will award the prizes randomly, but to win, it must be evident you used the sketch we provided as inspiration to create a project using predominantly Creative Memories products. You have until Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 11:59pm CT (AU: Wednesday, 18 Oct., at 3:59pm AEDT) to submit your layout(s). Prize winners will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 19, at noon CT (AU: Friday, 20 Oct.).
Challenge #1

Nicole’s Tip: “Have fun experimenting with the sketch. I knew I wanted to highlight the different papers from the Shiplap Paper Pack, so decided to take my own spin on the sketch and do a fun border with multiple 1/4″ strips!”

Collection Used: Happy Hauntings with Full Moon Fun Stickers or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
Sonia’s Tip: “Make your layout look cohesive by picking three main colors you want in your layout. Then add complementing stickers and embellishments that go with your colors — always remember to have fun!“
Challenge #3
Collection Used: Christmas Cheer or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
Nicole’s Tip: “Layering embellishments and stickers can be your best friend to create interest and depth on your page. Our Design Team does a great job at purposefully creating items that cohesively layer together, making it easy to get a nice-looking result!”

Collection Used: Polar Lights or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia) — Hint: The Polar Lights collection is discounted until Oct. 30!
Noreen’s Tip: “Simple switches like using White Shimmer Cardstock instead of plain White Cardstock and tearing rather than cutting the paper strips give your layout a subtle gleam and extra texture for visual interest!”

Brittany’s Tip: “Don’t be afraid to play around with mixing! I did a mixture of Fast2Fab™ backgrounds and created some of my own. Also, take some time to look around the Designer to see various palettes and elements that can work with your photos — you may be surprised! The ‘Cutie’ element on the bunny costume page, for example, I found in the Pets theme!”
