I was hooked as soon as I spotted the duck wearing puddle boots. The sunny yellow Simply Sunshine springtime collection is just the cutest. Pairing it up with the bouncy Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge makes a perfect match. Check out the fun and happy springtime borders below!
To create these borders you’ll need:

- Original Border Maker System with Rainbow and Lace Flower Chain Border Maker Cartridges
- Essentials 4-Way Punch
- 12-inch Trimmer
- Tape Runner with Repositionable Tape Runner Refill
- Foam Squares
Floral Scrapbook Border
Step 1: Using the Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with plaid patterned paper. Trim to measure 3″ x 12″ to create your base. Cut a 1-3/4″ x 12″ strip of white polka dot patterned paper and adhere on top. Cut a 1/4″ x 12″ strip of pink patterned paper and adhere behind the “dots” in the base.
Step 2: Using the Lace Flower Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with yellow patterned paper. Place in the middle of the white strip.
Step 3: Using the Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge, punch two borders with pink patterned paper, trimming each out with the trimmer at the base of the rainbows to cut apart the top “scallop” shapes. Adhere one just above and one just below the lace flower chain border. Fun find: Look at the cute little macaroni shapes you get once you make this cut! So cute!
Step 4: Add floral embellishments, some with Foam Squares, as shown.
Springtime Scrapbook Border
Step 1: Cut a 3″ x 12″ strip of yellow lattice patterned paper for the base. Cut a 2-3/8″ x 12″ strip of dark green patterned paper and adhere on top. Cut a 2-1/4″ x 12″ strip of floral patterned paper and place on top of the green strip.
Step 2: Using the Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with green leaf patterned paper. Trim to 2″ x 12″ and punch the other side. (Note: To punch the other side, place sticky notes along the punched edge to extend the width of the strip so that it stays in place under the magnetic holder.)
Step 3: Cut a 3/4″ x 12″ strip of yellow patterned paper and place it behind the two rows of “holes” in the middle of the strip. Mount the strip along the middle of the border.
Step 4: Add the leaves and duck embellishments and the umbrella and “Springtime” stickers, popping some up with Foam Squares as desired.
This is Real Life Scrapbook Border
Step 1: Using the Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with dark green patterned paper. Trim to 3″ x 12″ and punch the other side. This is your base. Cut a 2-3/8″ x 12″ strip of pink patterned paper and mount on top of the base so that just the outer scallops show on each side.
Step 2: Cut a 2″ x 12″ strip of floral patterned paper. Cut in thirds, creating three 2″ x 4″ pieces.
Step 3: Using the Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge, punch one end of two of the pieces and both ends of the third piece. Place on the border as shown, with the piece punched twice flipped over to the daisy side in the middle.
Step 3: Add butterfly and leaf embellishments and “This is Real Life” sticker as shown, popping some up with Foam Squares as desired.
Essentials 4-Way Punch Scrapbook Border
Step 1: Cut a 3-1/4″ x 12″ strip of floral patterned paper for the base. Cut a 2-1/2″ x 12″ strip of green leaf patterned paper and mount on top.
Step 2: Cut a 2″ x 11-1/2″ strip of yellow patterned paper. Using the Rainbow Border Maker Cartridge, punch both ends. Adhere this strip on the border.
Step 3: Cut five 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ squares of white dot patterned paper. Using the Essentials 4-Way Punch, punch two opposite corners of each square with the petals corner punch. Place along the border, alternating punched edges, as shown.
Step 4: Top the squares with floral embellishments and word stickers, popping some up with Foam Squares as desired. Add enamel dots to the top and bottom.
