Oh, cardstock paper, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways (specifically, five of them).
Cardstock is a staple in any scrapbooker’s supplies. Sometimes you simply need a thicker, stronger paper that you can rely on to get the job done and that’s cardstock in a crafty nutshell. As die-hard scrapbookers, we love cardstock for more than just it’s strength. Check out these five reasons why we can’t imagine our cropping life without cardstock paper!
#1. Exclusive Shades
Cardstock paper differs from designer paper in that it provides us with strong, solid and exclusive shades. Designer paper tends to be covered with patterns, icons and all sorts of imagery (which we also love!), while cardstock paper sticks with one solid shade, opening up a plethora of new project possibilities. Many of these solid shades are exclusive, making them a must-have addition to your craft supplies.
#2. Textures

Did you know that some sheets of cardstock are textured? Textured cardstock paper is a great way to add extra dimension to your layouts, plus it’s just cool. Using textured cardstock creates an authentic look and feel and spices up any spread so it stands the test of time. It’s easy to see why we love cardstock but now it’s easy to feel, too!
#3. Shimmer

Nothing makes your layouts shine (literally!) like shimmering cardstock! That gorgeous glimmer is one of the things we love most about cardstock. Honestly, what better way to add an enchanting pop of personality to your album than with paper that sparkles? It illuminates any layout and shines nearly as bright as the faces in the photos you put on it!
#4. Photo-Safe
Scrapbooking is all about preservation. The whole point of scrapbooking is to create a book of memories that you can look back on fondly and maybe even hand down from generation to generation. So, it only makes sense to use paper that adheres to a “do no harm” policy when it comes to your photos! Thankfully, cardstock paper is photo-safe, allowing you to rest assured any photo you place on the page will last for years to come. It’s acid-free, lignin-free and bleed-resistant, which helps preserve your photos and keep them looking as beautiful as the day you added them to your album. Did you know not all scrapbook paper is photo-safe? It’s just another reason cardstock paper is a notch above the rest.
#5. Versatility
Our main reason for loving this paper is the versatility it brings to crafts of all kinds. No matter what you’re working on, any project will surely benefit from having cardstock paper in the mix. Some ways we love using it:
- Scrapbook layouts
- Cards
- Paper crafts (origami, etc.)
- Arts and crafts for adults and kids
Not only can you use cardstock paper in a variety of ways, but also pair different shades with a myriad of other products. Take a look at the collection combinations you can put together using some of the exclusive cardstock papers available during the Cardstock Buffet Promo!

I wouldn’t be able to do much scrapping or card-making without my cardstock. It’s the base of everything I create! How fortunate I am to have a great selection!! Thank you CM. ❤️
what do I like?? It is beautiful – especially the textures!! Much appreciated.
What do I love about CM cardstock? The quality, colours, texture, weight. I use solids far more then the designer paper. I’m old school in that way. That’s how I was taught. Enrich your photos, don’t hide them. My favourite are the shimmer papers. Wish CM would bring back the ‘midnight’. My stash is almost depleted.
Love, Love, Love CM cardstock!! I like to mat my pictures and often double mat. CM cardstrock is perfect. Any chance of putting exclusive colors in your regular cardstock line up. I am running out of Koala Gray, Caribbean Orange, Mariner Green, etc. One of my all time favorite buffets!!
