Gear Up For A Grand Red, White And Blue Finale: 4th of July Scrapbook Layouts

Happy (early) Birthday, America!

Each year as the fourth day of July rolls around, many celebrate good ol’ USA’s big day in star-spangled spirit with grill outs, fireworks and sparklers, parades, family vacations, red-white-and-blue regalia and more spectacular shenanigans! Our very own Creative Memories Product Designer Jaclyn Robertson and blog contributor Sachiyo Omitsu wanted to add a flare for the festivities with these 4th of July scrapbook layouts that will make sparks this Independence Day and for years to come!

Fireworks Layout

Layout by Jaclyn Robertson — Creative Memories Product Designer

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of Navy Solid Cardstock as the base for the layout.

Step 2: Cut the white star outline designer paper to 11-1/2” x 11-1/2”. Adhere to the base.

Step 3: Keep the leftover strips from the white star outline designer paper — flip over to use the plaid pattern and adhere on top of the red scallop laser-cut borders. Place and adhere on the top and bottom of the page as shown.

Step 4: To create the “fireworks,” use the outside edge of the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern with the Red Blade and cut three circles.

Step 5: Cut the circles in half to measure about 2-1/2” inches.

Step 6: Cut in half once again. Then, lining up with the 45-degree angle on the 12-inch Trimmer, cut in half.

Step 7: Adhere on the page as shown, balancing the patterns throughout each firework.

Step 8: Taking the dark blue firework laser-cut border, cut three bursts to adhere to the middle of the fireworks. Adhere with Foam Squares to add dimension.

Step 9: With the Starry Night Shimmer Solid Cardstock, cut three circles by using the inside edge of the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern with the Red Blade. Adhere as shown.

Step 10: Crop four photos into 4” circles using the outside edg of the small Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern with the Red Blade. Adhere on top of the larger circles.

Step 11: Journal as desired.

Lighthouse Layout

Layout by Sachiyo Omitsu — Creative Memories Independent Advisor

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Cut out a 1” frame from a piece of Navy Solid Cardstock. Set aside the middle piece for Step 3. Cut a piece of the waves paper to 11-3/4” x 11-3/4” and add to the frame. Use this as the base of this layout.

Step 2: Cut the following segments for the lighthouse —

  • Balcony:
    • Use the Firecracker Punch to punch five firecrackers from the navy plaid paper. Trim the bottom side as shown. Use one of the bottom pieces for the lightning rod. Cut a piece of the navy plaid paper to measure 1/2” x 2”.
  • Watch Room:
    • Cut a piece of White Solid Cardstock to measure 1-1/2” x 2”.
  • Dome:
    • Cut a circle using the inside of the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern with the Red Blade from the navy stars paper. Cut the circle in half.
  • Tower:
    • Cut the bold red-and-white stripes paper to measure 3” x 7”. Mark at 3/4” from the sides as shown below. Cut from the marked point to the other end to make a trapezoid.
  • Lighthouse Bottom:
    • Cut a piece of navy plaid paper to measure 3/4” x 4”.

Step 3: Assemble the lighthouse and add to the base.

Step 4: Cut two 4” x 6” mats and one 4” x 4” mat from the piece of Navy Solid Cardstock that you set aside in Step 1. Cut two 3-3/4” x 5-3/4” mats and one 3-3/4” x 3-3/4” mat from the star outline paper. Add to the navy mats.

Step 5: Mark at 1” from the left-bottom corner of Canary Solid Cardstock. Draw a pencil line connecting from the marked point to the top-left corner. Cut along the line. Insert the top-left corner of the cardstock under the lighthouse and trim the excess.

Step 6: Adhere laser-cut borders and mats, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
