Turn The Party Mode On With This Birthday Themed Scrapbook Layout

Balloons, confetti, party hats, sweet treats, presents and other festive supplies are at the ready (and ready for a good time!) — the Birthday Bonanza collection has arrived fashionably on time! Perfectly wrapped up for memories like milestone birthday bashes, sharing cupcakes at school with friends or at work with colleagues, blowing out the candles and other laughter-filled celebratory moments, these dazzling decorative items take the cake… and creativity! It’s time to set the party mode to ON with this birthday themed scrapbook layout.

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of multi-hued overlapping grid paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut a sheet of Eggplant Solid Cardstock to 10-3/4” x 10-3/4” and adhere on the base. Cut a sheet of yellow dotted scallop paper to 10-1/2” x 10-1/2” and mount on top.

Step 3: Cut a 10-1/2” x 2-1/2” strip of bold zigzag stripes paper and adhere at the bottom of the yellow piece. Cut the “Happy Birthday” title from a variety mat to measure 4-1/2” x 2-1/2”. Adhere on the bold zigzag stripes piece. Cut a sparkler border sticker to 10-1/2” and adhere on top.

Step 4: Cut a 4” square with both Kelly green fans paper and White Solid Cardstock. Apply Repositionable Tape Runner adhesive on the white square and adhere the Kelly green square on top. Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut a 1/4″ frame from the square, aligning each edge at the right edge of the gray mat strip and carefully lifting the blade edges at 1/4″ all the way around. Cut a 3-1/2” square with both magenta checkerboard paper and White Solid Cardstock, and again with both blue wavy stripes paper and White Solid Cardstock. Adhere each set as before. Cut 1/4” frames from each set. (Set aside the insides of the frames for Step 6.)

Step 5: Cut a 4” square mat from White Solid Cardstock. Crop a photo to a 3-3/4” square and adhere on top. Cut two 3-1/2” square mats from white cardstock. Crop two photos to a 3-1/4” square and mount on top. Insert and adhere to a frame as shown and mount on the layout.

Step 6: Make party hats using the leftover pieces from Step 4. Turn the Circle Punch upside down and insert a corner of the Kelly green square into the punch so the corner is all the way to the back of the circle. Use the photo above as a guide for placement. Punch. Place the piece on the 13×13 Custom Cutting System Mat so the point is on a line. Place two pencil marks on the curved side 1” apart. Trim from the point to one corner, then trim from the point to the other corner to make the party hat. Repeat the process until you have three of each Kelly green, magenta and blue party hats. Adhere on the layout as shown, adhering an epoxy sticker on top of each.

Step 7: Add stickers, popping some up with Foam Squares for added dimension. Journal as desired.
