A Little Peek of Personality with Free Spirit
The Free Spirit collection doesn’t exactly play it safe, and that’s what makes it so fun to scrapbook with. Bold florals, good-vibes details and unexpected color combinations give this collection plenty of personality. This layout plays into that energy with layered Laser Cut Borders, letting colorful papers peek through the open spaces for a dimensional detail that really makes the page pop.
To create this layout, you will need:
- Free Spirit Designer Paper
- Free Spirit Stickers
- Free Spirit Laser Cut Borders
- Navy Solid Cardstock
- Foam Squares
- 12-inch Trimmer
- Photo Trimmer
- All-Purpose Scissors
- Tape Runner

Step 1: Use a piece of white colored specs designer paper as the base for this layout.
Step 2: Cut a piece of the navy and lavender designer paper to measure 1/2″ x 12″. Adhere the strip along the left edge of the layout.
Step 3: Cut a piece of the orange patterned designer paper to measure 11-1/2″ x 1-1/4″. Adhere the strip along the bottom edge of the layout.
Step 4: Cut 24 pieces of paper, each measuring 1″ x 1″, from a variety of tonal papers. Adhere the pieces to the back of two orange Laser Cut Borders, alternating the papers so they show through the open areas. Adhere the borders vertically next to the navy and lavender designer paper strip on the left side of the layout.
Step 5: Tuck the teal border under the right edge of the second orange border, as shown in the image above.
Step 6: Cut 12 pieces of paper, each measuring 3/4″ x 3/4″, from a variety of tonal papers. Adhere the pieces to the back of the lavender Laser Cut Border. Adhere the border to the layout using Foam Squares for added dimension.
Step 7: Cut a piece of Navy Solid Cardstock to measure 8″ x 9-1/4″. Adhere a floral border sticker along the right edge, trimming any excess with a scissors. Adhere the cardstock piece to the layout. Trim two photos to measure 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and two to measure 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. Adhere the photos to the cardstock, slightly staggering them as shown above.
Step 8: Add journaling and adhere stickers to the layout, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
