Fall Into the Details With Inking & Embossing

This fall layout puts a creative spin on the Scattered Leaves Embossing Folder. Using an inking technique before embossing adds depth to the pattern, while layered, fussy-cut leaves create dimension throughout the design. Using the Croptoberfest 2026 designer papers and embellishments, this layout is all about making the details stand out.

To create this layout, you will need:

A family photo collage featuring a couple with their newborn baby, sitting on a couch in an outdoor setting. The top image shows the mother smiling while holding the baby, and the father sits beside them with a plaid shirt. The bottom image captures a tender moment as the father gently looks at the baby while the mother smiles. Decorative elements include fall-themed motifs with text expressing gratitude.

Step 1: Use a piece of green dots designer paper as the base for this layout. Cut a piece of 11″ x 11″ Bright White Solid Cardstock and center it on the base.

Step 2: Cut two pieces of green dots designer paper to measure 3″ x 12″.

Step 3: Open the Scattered Leaves Embossing Folder and generously rub ink over the inside top, making sure to cover the entire stencil area. Place one 3″ x 12″ piece of designer paper in the folder and emboss. Repeat with the second piece.

Step 4: Adhere one embossed 12″ strip to the base, 1-1/4″ from the left edge. From the second embossed strip, fussy cut several leaves and adhere them to the long strip using Foam Squares.

Step 5: Choose two coordinating mat cards to use as photo mats. Center the first mat from left to right and place it 1″ from the bottom edge. Place the second mat above it, leaving 1/4″ between the two mats.

Step 6: Add journaling and embellishments.
