Scrapbooking Memories With Mom

Happy Mother’s Day to all you MOMs out there!  ….and to all who step in and act as moms!

So many times life goes by without us taking the time to document our memories with mom. Take the time this weekend to make memories with her, and then pull out your Fresh Picks Collection to document those memories in your scrapbook. Even if your beautiful mother is no longer with you, it is not too late! Pull out some favorite photos of her, and document those favorite memories! It will be certain to bring a smile to your face any time you page through your scrapbooks in the years to come!

Step 1:  Use white pages as the base for the spread.

Step 2:  Using the paper trimmer, cut two strips from the dark plum patterned paper to measure 12” x 1-1/2”. Adhere to the bottom of each side of the spread.

Step 3:  Using the paper trimmer, cut two pieces of the floral patterned paper to measure 12” x 3-1/2”. Adhere just above the plum colored strips.

Step 4:  Using the paper trimmer, cut two pieces of the lavender colored paper to measure 12” x 2”. Adhere along the top portion of both sides of the spread.

Step 5:  Using the Medallion Frame Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch two strip out from the yellow patterned paper to measure 12”.

Step 6:  Using the paper trimmer, cut two strips from the green patterned paper to measure 12” x ½”. Weave this piece through the medallion frame border. Adhere to the top of the plum paper on both sides of the spread.

Step 7:  Using the paper trimmer, cut two pieces from the green patterned paper to measure 4-1/2” x 6-1/2”. Adhere to the left page of the spread. Cut the butterfly patterns to mat on the green paper using foam squares. Add a 4” x 6” photo to the other green mat.

Step 8:  Using the paper trimmer, trim four photos to measure 4” x 4”. Adhere three of the photos along the top of the floral paper on the right side of the spread. Mat the fourth photo on top of a piece of green patterned paper to measure 4-1/2” x 4-1/2”. Adhere at an angle above the other three photos.

Step 9:  Using the paper trimmer, cut a piece of the yellow patterned paper to measure 5” x 2-1/2”. Adhere just above the photos to journal on.

Step 10:  To create the flowers, you will punch out two 12” strips from the picket fence border cartridge. Using a scissors, cut off a section of 8 picket points. Use your scissors to cut in between each picket, just to the top of the open holes, but not all the way through. Using your hands, bend the paper to form the pickets into a flower, adhering the ends together.

Step 11:  Using the CCS with the inside of the small circle and the red blade, cut out three circles from the plum colored paper. Adhere to the centers of each flower. Then, using the inside of the small circle with the blue blade, cut out three circles from the yellow patterned paper. Adhere to the top of the plum circle using foam squares.

Step 12:  Adhere the flowers to the layout using foam squares.
