Hi everybody. A week ago, I finally got the chance to meet up with my Best Friend Mischelle for dinner and a movie. We’ve been friends for over twenty years! I met Mischelle when I was a senior in high school. She’s 10 years older than me, but the age difference never mattered… as you can see. Twenty years later we still make fun of each other and laugh at ourselves. We often say, what happen to us? We are getting old!
I love the photo of us together. We barely had any make-up on, but we didn’t let that bother us. We always take photos when we are together. It’s all about the moment.
For this layout, I used the Royal Blue and Cranberry Mix & Match Designer Paper and the Flower Embellishments.I pulled colors straight from the photo. Patterned paper is a weakness of mine. I can never decide on just a few patterns to use! This layout has five different patterns and I like how it all blends together so nicely with the touch of pink.
To create this layout, you will need:
- Mix & Match Designer Paper Pack in Cranberry and Royal Blue
- Mix & Match Flower Embellishments in Cranberry and Royal Blue
- Black Dual-Tip Pen
- White Solid Cardstock Paper Pack
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- Foam Squares
- All-Purpose Scissors
- Two-Way Corner Rounder
I matted a 11″x11″ floral print square to the 12″x12″ striped paper using adhesives. Then I used a ruler and a Black Dual-Tip Pen to draw a triangle so I had more control over the size of the triangle, rather than just using my 12-Inch straight trimmer to cut the paper. Once I had the line marked on each of the patterns, I used my scissors to cut the triangles. Then I added two triangles at the top and two at the bottom of the layout.
I layered two flowers together with a blue rhinestone and adhered it between the two triangles at the top of the layout.
I typed my journaling on my computer then printed it on White Cardstock. I used a photo corner rounder to round the edges then I used a Dual-Tip Pen to hand journal the title, “friends forever.” I matted a 4″x4″ photo on the 4 1/2″x 4 1/2″ polka dot patterned paper square. I adhered both, the matted photo and journaling mat to the bottom of the layout as shown.
Do you have someone in your life that you’ve been friends with for a long time? Isn’t it nice to have that one special person who knows “you” so well?
Thank you for visiting today!
I have always believed the story is just as important as the picture, paper and embellishments. Beautiful Layouts and story!!
Even though this is not my style of scrapbooking, I love that you are creating layouts for CM. I like the fact that all styles of scrapbooking and card making are celebrated here!
I have never been a fan of using an entire page for just one photo, but this is a beautiful page. Well done!
Good to finally see a layout where the photo is not lost among the ephemera!
Very nice page. Makes me want to make a page with my friends…
What size were the triangles?
