Looking for a quick, easy way to make an adorable gift album? Here’s a simple tutorial for creating an 8×8 scrapbook album using just a few supplies and tools of your choice! Let’s get started!
You might remember my post from this blog last fall when I used the Slice of Summer Collection. For this #ThrowbackThursday post, I chose the beautiful Full Bloom Collection. All you need is six sheets of paper (half of a pack) and the coordinating sticker pack.
Do not delay in getting your 8×8 Album Covers, as they are only available a few times a year, and RIGHT NOW is one of those windows! Not to worry though, the 8×8 Page Refills are available all of the time. So, this allows you to create the pages whenever you wish.
What You’ll Need to Create This Layout:
- 8×8 Album and Pages
- Half of a Paper Pack (you’ll use 1 sheet each of 6 designs)
- Coordinating Sticker Pack
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- Original Border Maker System with 4-5 cartridges of your choice
- I used: Double Chevron, Dancing Daisies, Scallop Dot, Lace Flower Chain and Sprout Border Maker Cartridges
- Tape Runner with Repositionable Tape Runner Refill
- Foam Squares
Cutting instructions for each of the the 6 papers:
Cut a paper lengthwise at the 8-inch mark to make 8″ x 12″ and 4″ x 12″ pieces. Cut the 4″ x 12″ strip into either one 4″ x 4″ and one 4″ x 8″ pieces OR three 4″ x 4″ squares.
With the 8″ x 12″ piece, cut 4 inches off the long side to make 8″ x 8″ and 8″ x 4″ pieces.
The 8″ x 8″ square will make several border pieces. Tip: Make sure to check both sides of the paper to orient the design the way you want it before cutting. Using the Border Maker System and cartridges you chose, punch 3 different borders, trimming out as needed. Cut the remainder of the square into strips (approximately two 1-1/2″ x 8″ and one 1″ x 8″ strips will work).
How to Create This Layout:
Now’s the fun part! Mix and match border strips and rectangles on each of the pages. Use the 4″ x 4″ squares as mats or journal boxes and decorate as desired. Add stickers, mounting some with Foam Squares to make ’em pop. Each album will be unique, fun and oh-so-easy to put together!
Okay, you’ve seen my mini album; now it’s your turn! You can use any collection of papers and stickers that suit your project. What will you use for yours? We would LOVE to see your completed project on Social Media by using #CreativeMemories.

Thank you Krislynn ! I like pretty !
Cool! Planning Christmas books for grandchildren so they add 2-6 photos each year.
Love this, will surely use these ideas!
Over the years; your papers and embellishments have become pure ugly. I used to purchase much of your products. I wouldn’t now!
Love the layouts as I haven’t tried an 8×8 album before! Also love the papers…nice patterns that enhance and not overwhelm your photos.
