Scrapbook pages are a lot like caterpillars. They start out plain and very unassuming, but if you have patience and give it enough time, they’ll eventually transform into something beautiful. Ironically enough, this butterfly scrapbook border is the perfect way to turn any page into a work of art. Follow the instructions below to see how you can create this Maritime butterfly scrapbook layout!
To create this scrapbook layout, you will need:
- Maritime Paper Pack
- Maritime Stickers
- Cardstock: Brown, Evergreen, Navy, White
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- Original Border Maker System with Butterflies Border Maker Cartridge
- Tape Runner with Repositionable Refill
- Foam Squares
- Brown Dual-Tip Pen
Step 1: Use a piece of Brown Cardstock as the base for your layout.
Step 2: Cut a piece of blue patterned paper to measure 11″ x 11″ and adhere to the center of the base.
Step 3: Cut a piece of White Cardstock to measure 10-1/2″ x 10-1/2″. Adhere this piece to the center of the previous blue patterned paper.
Step 4: Cut two pieces of tan patterned paper to measure 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″. These will be your photo mats. Adhere to the lower left and upper right sections of the blue patterned paper.
Step 5: Use the Border Maker System and the Butterflies Border Maker Cartridge to punch a border with a piece of green patterned paper. Cut this border into two pieces that each measure 6″ x 2″.
Step 6: Cut two pieces of Navy Cardstock to measure 6″ x 3/4″ and adhere to the lower half of the punched border on the green patterned paper.
Step 7: Use scrap pieces of cardstock to cut pieces that measure approximately 2″ x 1-1/4″. Adhere one of each color to the back of the border as shown. Bonus: Punch out additional borders with the Butterflies Border Maker Cartridge with each color of cardstock. Then, use the butterfly cutouts and adhere them to the border with Foam Squares.
Step 8: Embellish your layout by adding stickers. Make sure to use Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
Step 9: Journal your story as desired with a Brown Dual-Tip Pen.
