Fall officially started last week, and if you look outside you’ll see people making tons of fun autumn memories. As the trees get bare, the camera memory card gets full and you need somewhere to put those photos! With a beautiful two-page fall scrapbook layout using the Gather Together collection, you can fit many of your autumn photos into one gorgeous spread. Find out how blog contributor Wendy was able to use this collection and turn it into something that looks as crisp as an autumn day!
Wendy’s Inspiration:
Taking a walk on an autumn day enjoying the beautiful foliage is my most favorite thing. We are so fortunate to enjoy a State Park near our home called Green Lakes. There are numerous trails and when I come to an intersection of two paths I always think of Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken.”
“Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I~/I took the one less traveled by/
And that has made all the difference.”
The Gather Together collection is so perfect to scrapbook my fall memories. The hard part is deciding which papers and which of the beautiful stickers and layered embellishments to use!
What I love about sketches is that you are free to use the paper/embellishments that you love the most and use the sketch as a guide rather than mimicking exactly. Everyone’s will be different, which is so much fun! The layered embellishments are so pretty and the new Garland Border Maker Cartridge can be jazzed up by using layers of other border maker cartridge designs.

To create this two-page layout, you will need:
- Gather Together Paper Pack
- Gather Together Mat Pack
- Gather Together Foiled & Layered Embellishments
- Gather Together Stickers
- Goldenrod & Navy Cardstock
- Original Border Maker System with the Garland Border Maker Cartridge
- Custom Cutting System with Circle Patterns
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- 4-Way Hearts and Stars Corner and Hole Punch
- Foam Squares
- Tape Runner with Repositionable Tape Runner Refill
Step 1: Use two pieces of patterned paper as the base for this two-page layout.
Step 2: Using the Garland Border Maker Cartridge, punch one end of the Navy Cardstock. Then, trim to measure 12″ x 2″. Repeat this step so you have two borders that measure 12″ x 2″.
Step 3: Cut two pieces of Navy Cardstock to measure 12″ x 1/2″.
Step 4: For the photo mats, cut four pieces of Navy Cardstock to measure 6″ x 4-1/2″, 4″ x 6″, 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 4″. Use the 4-Way Hearts and Stars Corner and Hole Punch to make decorative corners in one of the photo mats.
Step 5: Cut four pieces of Goldenrod Cardstock to measure (2) 11″ x 1″ and (2) 12″ x 1″. Adhere the 12″ x 1″ pieces behind the garland border as shown.
Step 6: Using the large Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern, cut a piece of Goldenrod Cardstock on the inside with the Red Blade.
Step 7: Select two decorative mats and arrange all the pieces on the two-page layout. Adhere as shown.
Step 8: Journal as desired and add embellishments, stickers and your favorite photographs to complete the layout!
Your camera is a MUST to have with you this fall. Autumn in Upstate New York is gorgeous, though brief! I’m ready for the cool temperatures, a roaring fire, licorice tea and a bowl of pumpkin soup! I can’t wait to put all of these photos into this fall scrapbook layout! What’s your favorite part of the autumn season? Let me know in the comments!
It is a great layout with lots of space to use punches and any paper pack that is catching your eye!
I like the double matting with the black which emphasizes the photos on the flowered paper. Just got the hearts and stars si am glad to see it put to use.
