The new Blend & Bloom collection brings every photo to life and makes all your projects look like a gorgeous spring day. It’s a collection jam-packed with colors, designs and illustrations that are guaranteed to put you in a better mood just by looking at it. What went into creating such a positive and playful collection? Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Blend & Bloom collection by seeing it through the eyes of Tara, the designer of the collection. Meet the Designer
Tara has been an illustrator and product designer with Creative Memories since December 2015. Other CM collections she has designed include Little Lamb, Imagine, Sugarplum, Bookworm, Fur Buddies, Go! Fight! Win!, Gallivant, Super Duper, Fanatic, Pumpkin Spice, Frost and more.
What inspired this collection?
“Nature! Garden flowers, greenery, butterflies, birdies, clouds and sunshine! You can see that inspiration come to life in the light and cheerful watercolor washes.”
How would you describe the papers?
“All three of the paper packs incorporate staple patterns (such as dots) done multiple ways and a painterly gingham and grid for your more tonal base. The other half of the designs incorporate more unique patterns that include playful florals, butterflies and paintbrush strokes.”
What makes this collection unique?
“The three collections were designed around the idea of creating a wreath layout that uses all of the embellishment packs and paper packs together.”
What was difficult about designing this collection?
“This was one of the more challenging collections (technically it’s three collections) that I’ve worked on. The color palette and components changed multiple times and it took me a few tries to get to where it ended up. It’s always a challenge to try and do something unique while still creating something that’s general and versatile.”
What life events do you envision Blend & Bloom being used for?
“Springtime fun, babies, birthdays and time spent in the outdoors and in nature!”
