Your May Reflection Layout is Here!

It’s time to create your May reflection page! I can’t believe it’s already almost June — we’re nearly halfway through the year! There were so many wonderful things that happened in May, so when I sat down to create this page I had a good feeling it was going to turn into something special. Take some time out of your week to compile your scrapbook kit, print your photos and reflect on all the happiest moments that made May a special month for you. Planning ahead of time will help you get a better idea of how the page will turn out!

Today, I will teach you how to create a simple layout while using all the fun patterns in the newest kit, Kit #17. I absolutely love how this layout turned out and it was so easy to make! Read on to find the May Journal Prompt Challenge, my reflection page layout using Kit #17 (sketch included!) and a fun giveaway to win White Refill Pages and Kit #18. Let’s get to it!

1Welcome to another Happy Album blog post! For this month’s reflection page, I’m using Kit #17 — the NEWEST Happy Album Kit! This monthly highlight page was so much fun to create and I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with yours! Happy Album is all about telling your story and showcasing all the things in your life that make you happy, whether it’s people, food, places or anything else! It’s so much fun looking back on each monthly page at the end of the year, with each page serving as a great reminder of some of the best things that happened to us as the year went on. Grab a beverage and get in some comfortable clothes because it’s time to get creating!

A journal prompt is a simple statement that inspires you and gives you an idea of what to write about. It doesn’t matter if you’re a talented writer or a beginner, writing in your Happy Album is a great way to unwind, keep up with your goals and prepare yourself for the upcoming month.

  • Weekly highlights
  • What you’re grateful for
  • Something you tried for the first time
  • Progress of your 2019 goals
  • Someone who made you feel special
  • What you want to make more time for next month
  • What you want to improve on next month
  • What you’re looking forward to next month

  1. Before The Pen

First, I adhered the blue dashed and flower patterned designer papers to my Happy Album pages. Next, I cut two 10′ x 1.5 inch strips of the yellow striped paper and adhered them to each page as shown above. Lastly, I cut the coral designer paper into 6×3 pieces and adhered them to the top and bottom of both pages. I love how simple this layout is while still using all the patterns in Kit #17!

2. Add Your Happy Memories

I decided to cut a small piece of cardstock for the title. I then printed all my photos to be 2′ x 3′ and adhered them on the patterned paper. This gives me a lot of room to journal on the coral paper!

3. Decorate Your Pages

To finish my May highlight layout, I decorated my pages with the cute stickers that come in Kit #17! Using the journal prompt to help me get started, I then wrote about all the special moments from the past month. I’m so happy with how this layout turned out and love the vibrant patterns in this month’s kit.

  1. Beautiful layout!!! and full of good suggestions. My humble two cents would be for the really patterned backgrounds to use a Journaling “card” from matching cardstock – with decorative corners with the journaling added. From the photo the writing is a bit hard to read – but is probably better in person. Anyway – love the layout ideas!
