Since their debut in late 2019, our collection of theme packs have been a downright hit. Each kit includes everything you need to create completely curated layouts featuring a variety of different themes that fit all kinds of project types. From dance to Australia to the zoo, road trips and more, these packs have it all! Do you have any theme packs in your craft room? Put them to good use with blog contributor Tina’s idea for DIY mini albums that she made using the Just Dance Theme Pack!
Tina’s Inspiration
My inspiration was the Just Dance Theme Pack and my niece’s love of dancing. This album is the answer to how to showcase a random collection of photos of the same subject. You can tailor this album to any event or hobby.
For this project, you will need:
- Just Dance Theme Pack or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- 12-inch Trimmer with Straight and Scoring Blades or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Tape Runner or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
See what’s included in the Just Dance Theme Pack in the video below!

Step 1: Trim a piece of Platinum Shimmer Cardstock to measure 4″ x 12″.
Step 2: Score it on the long side at 4″ and 8″. Crisp the edges.

Step 3: Trim several pieces (there are six panels) of patterned paper to measure 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and adhere them to the panels.

Step 4: Trim photos and adhere them to the decorated panels. Decorate with stickers.

Step 5: To create the band, trim a piece of Platinum Shimmer Cardstock to measure 3/4″ x 9″. Wrap it around the mini album and overlap the ends. Adhere the ends together using a Tape Runner and decorate both sides with trimmed border stickers.
Although this particular DIY mini album was made using the Just Dance Theme Pack, you can get the same results using the materials found in any of the other Creative Memories® Theme Packs! What type of mini album will you try creating first? Let us know in the comments below!
So cute! Great idea. Not every “album” has to be 12×12! :-)
Do you have any mini albums with a singing category? My granddaughter writes and performs music, and I would love to do an album for her! Thanks, Sue Brady
Hi Sue – We don’t have one that is specifically singing, but I think this example would work perfect for that! You can also look under the Mini Album Ideas category for other great ideas.
What does “crisp the edges” mean? I’ve never heard that expression before.
I am planning to create items that I can sell at a Spring Arts and Crafts Festival. All items must be related to spring, so dance recitals, trips to the zoo, Easter, Mother’s Day, Graduation Day, Birthdays. I like the mini album idea, where I would just have cardstock mats for the customer can place their pictures in. I know I have run across other blogs that will help me with inspiration.
I am looking for albums with a theme about singing and music. Don’t like the really large albums, but love all the smaller ones! Thanks, Sue Brady…karenleebrady@gmail.com
