Meet the Scrap Journal Templates

Meet the Scrap Journal Templates. The 6.75×10 Scrap Journal size is all about compact storytelling, and these new templates make that process even more seamless. Developed in collaboration with Advisor Debbie Pettit, these six reusable guides act as a structural foundation for your pages within the Scrap Journal System. They are designed to help you spend less time measuring and more time documenting the moments that matter.

The Story Behind the Templates

Innovation at Creative Memories often starts in the hands of our community. These templates were born from the ingenuity of Advisor Debbie Pettit, who has been scrapbooking and journaling since she was a little girl. For Debbie, scrapbooking has always been a family affair. After decades of documenting sports, graduations and birthday parties for her three boys, she found herself in a new season of life. “I have fallen in love with daily or weekly journaling,” she explains, “but with more of a creative touch than either of my parents put in their journals.”

This passion for creative journaling is what inspired the Scrap Journal Templates. Debbie noticed that while she loved manipulating paper, she wanted a repeatable system that felt polished. “My scrapbooking friends have joked that while I often try to angle my photos and elements, I almost always go back and straighten them with the zero centering ruler to have perfect alignment. These templates help with that.”

The transition from a hand-cut acetate prototype to a professional Creative Memories tool was fueled by Debbie’s desire to help others move past the blank page. “The design is already created,” she says. “I just need to insert my stories. I think people will find it easy to grab a template and start creating immediately.”

A “Straight” Path to Success

Here are a few helpful tips and notes from Debbie on how to make the most of these templates as you find a flow that works for you and your Scrap Journal System:

Prep Your Pages
Try tracing all your pages ahead of time. When you come back to your Scrap Journal later, you already have a full guided journal ready for photos and stories.

Clip and Create
Use All-Purpose Clips to secure the template to your cardstock while you trace. You can even keep it clipped on while you work to act as a physical guide for your placement.

Think Beyond Photos
These grids are not just for pictures. Use the spaces for washi tape, borders, cardstock accents or titles.

Standard Sizes are Key
The templates use standard photo sizes to make printing and trimming as simple as possible.

Adjust on the Fly
Do not be afraid to break the rules. If you are making a title page or have a new creative idea, use the templates as a base and adjust the lines to fit your specific needs.

Keep it Simple
You can flip, turn and combine the designs to ensure every layout feels like your own.
