Worldwide Virtual Crop Challenge 1:
- Create a layout following the sketch below.
- Take a photo of your completed project.
- Post the photo of your completed page, spread or card to the Worldwide Virtual Crop Facebook Event Page AND add #CM1, #CM2, #CM3, etc., to the caption/comments. You will add the hashtag that matches the challenge that you are submitting. No words needed, just stick to the hashtag CM with numbers as this is a bilingual event! Feel free to use other hashtags as well, such as #WWVC2020 or #CreativeMemories, but BE SURE to include #CM1, #CM2, etc., so we can find your post. For Instagram users, you will need to add #WWVC2020 AND #CM1, #CM2, etc., so your post can be found.
- You have the entire event to submit all 12 challenges (some will post while you are sleeping). To see your final deadline date and time, check when your Facebook event ends; this will show you the date and time in your time zone. View challenge times in your time zone here. Excited for this!!
Is it the foldable one? not sure I’m on right thing.
Cathy, check out the video. Mellissa Ullman goes through creating the layouts. Hope that will help you. Good luck, you can do it.
Hi Cathy! Yes, we featured the fold-over technique, but feel free to use the sketch however you like!
what size are the squares?
Hi Lynn – You can make the squares whatever size you need, but I would try 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ for an exact measurement!
Love using the folded techniques!!!! Makes quick but really nice pages! I’m getting started now!
Where do we find the instructions, which include measurements please?
Hi Kellie – There are no specific instructions for these sketches! We want you to be able to use the sketch as inspiration and make your layout with what works for you!
what if we don’t have the paper packs they say you need? Can we use other creative memories paper packs?\
Yes! You can use any CM Paper Packs and still be eligible for prizes!
Hi Vicki – These are just for inspiration! Feel free to use anything from Creative Memories :)
That was AWESOME. Further time ever doing virtual crops in time to submit pages
Glad you could join us!
I found this to be very confusing. Finally found the blog but she has precut and I don’t see where the measurements are listed.
Not sure I will do another one if I have to guess
Hi Suzanne – Sorry you found this to be confusing! We just provide a sketch and let you create with what you have, no exact measurements. Just use the sketch as a guide and see what you can come up with. I hope this helps and you continue to create some wonderful pages!
Well that was Fun! And, I learned something new!
Glad to hear that, Becky!
I have never done anything like this, and honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do!
Hi Debbie – We are happy to have you join us! We will be posting challenges over the next few days on our blog. Then, all you have to do is create the layout however you like and post a photo of it on our Facebook Event page! All these links can be found above in this post. Hope this helps!
I am totally lost. This is my first time to do something like this and I can not figure out what I am supposed to be doing? I have opened about 10 different pages just to get here. Sorry that I joined without asking some questions for guidance first. Maybe I will try again some other time.
Debbie Davis and Beverly M Cranston, in the third paragraph at the top of this page is a link to info on CM’s virtual crops. https://blog.creativememories.com/2018/10/22/get-the-411-on-virtual-crops-2/
Sorry you are frustrated. They give us sketches and allow us to run with them.
Hi Beverly – Sorry you are having trouble! We will be posting challenges over the next few days on our blog. Each challenge will have its own post. Then, all you have to do is create the layout however you like and post a photo of it on our Facebook Event page here – https://www.facebook.com/events/572215843644708/ I hope this helps and you can create some beautiful layouts!
Thank you for this wonderful layout Melissa! You always come through for us!
I’m interested in getting all these posts. It looks fun!
Robin, they will be posted here throughout the weekend. Just refresh the page every couple of hours. Also, at the bottom of this page, you can sign up to receive an email every time a new post is added to the blog.
Hi Robin – It’s a ton of fun :) If you want to get emails when we post a new challenge, make sure you are subscribed.
Let’s hope that’s not what Creative Memories is trying to do. I’d like to think that she was suggesting this method for people who want it placed quickly and perfectly. There’s some people who are clumsy like me who want things position perfectly but always end up positioning them crooked.
I really like this technique. If you don’t want to waste paper, you can cut it down and piece together with the cardstock. Some like the extra layered look. It would be helpful to include the small box dimensions. Thank you!
Great suggestion, Christy! You can make the squares whatever size you need, but I would try 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ for an exact measurement!
Thank you so much for this great idea! I love to learn new things and am inspired to do this layout. The video was very helpful.
Glad you liked it, Jennifer! :)
Excellent video! Thank you!

How do know deadline when submissions are due? I found link for when challenges will be posted and saw when the prizes will be rewarded. But how long do we have to complete the challenges? Thank you
I’m confused are we expected to use all CM products, because I do have tools but I don’t have much in paper packs.
Love this – never would have thought of that! Love it rotated as well
If you prefer to make cards, do you turn this layout into a card?
I was at work and missed the all the layout instructions – where can I get them?
I like the concept, I just feel like it wastes paper. If you cut the 4 in piece off rather than fold it, you would still get the look, but also have the 4 inch piece to use else where.
