Easily Craft a Canadian Experience With This DIY Mini Accordion Album

Intricate, complex layouts always look great, but if you want to get something done simply and quickly (and still looks amazing!), there are other ways to perfectly and proudly highlight your photos and memories. How so, you may ask? Well, that’s where blog contributor Tina Kistinger comes into play! Check out her beautiful DIY mini accordion album with the True North Theme Pack!

Tina’s Inspiration

When I saw the True North Theme Pack, I knew I wanted to create a small album showcasing some of the beautiful scenery of our trip to Canada. I wanted something simple that would let the photos shine.

To create this project, you’ll need:

Step 1: Cut two strips of the red cardstock to measure 4-1/2″ x 12″.

Step 2: Score on the long side at 3-1/2″, 7″ and 10-1/2″.

Step 3: Fold both strips accordion style. Add adhesive to the end flap and adhere the two strips together to create one long strip. Create a pocket with the remaining end flap using the Mini Tape Runner.

Step 4: Trim your photos and adhere to both sides of the mini album.

Step 5: Add a few word stickers to your photos.

Step 6: Cut out “Our favourite memories”, “Time to explore” and “Canada” and mat them with cardstock. Trim the green patterned paper to 1″ x 4-1/2″ and adhere to the pocket flap.

  1. Tina’s blogs and her ideas have inspired me for a very long time. She is a true crafty artist.

  2. This would be perfect for a remembrance book when each of our grandkids have an overnight sleepover with us…WITHOUT all the work that can go in when I make an 8 x 8 album to serve as a reminder of our time together. Thank you for the idea! :-)

  3. Since I have family in Germany, this would be an easy little album with special pictures to send to them, or even as a special birthday card. I like the idea, and see all sorts of different possibilities!

  4. I didn’t understand how to make the accordion if you are only cutting 2 pieces of card stock so lost there for a little bit

    1. The two pieces of cardstock are 12 inches long. once you score them every 3 1/2 inches, you have 1 1/2 inch extra on each strip.you use one of those to adhere to the other strip, and make a pocket ot of the other 1 1/2 extra inch.

  5. I take way too many photos on our trips; this is a great idea to include a lot of them in a small amount of space on my scrapbook page. Thanks for the idea.
