Set Sail to Serenity With This Coastal Scrapbook Layout

We’re all a-boat the latest launch — the Seaside collection! These coastal scrapbooking supplies were inspired by nautical adventures and shoreline living and set sail toward scrappy ventures for photos of oceanfront beach days, cruises and boating, relaxing trips to seaside havens and any other nautical adventures you want to shell-ebrate. You ready to dive into the newest collection? Then seas the day with this coastal scrapbook layout!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use Cranberry Solid Cardstock as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut a piece of the sky blue bars designer paper to measure 11-3/4″ x 11-3/4″. Adhere to the base.

Step 3: Tear two pieces of the ocean blue trellis paper that are 11-3/4″ wide, layer/adhere to the layout. Tear two pieces of the sand ripples paper that are 11-3/4″ wide, layer/adhere to the layout.

Step 4: Using the Border Maker System with the Rope Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border from the tonal burlap paper. Cut a piece of ocean blue trellis designer paper to measure 11-3/4” x 3/4”.  Adhere to the top of the layout. Adhere the border to the back side of the ocean blue trellis paper strip. Adhere to the layout.

Step 5: Cut three photo mats that measure 4-1/2″ x 4″, 6-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and 5-1/4″ x 3-3/4″. Adhere to the layout, tucking into the torn pieces from Step 3.

Step 6: Cut a large mat in half. Tuck into the torn sand pieces. Journal as desired.

Step 7: To create the sailboat:

  • Cut a piece of designer paper to measure 2-1/2” x 4”, cutting from corner to corner to create triangles. Use one of the triangles.
  • Cut a piece of designer paper to measure 2” x 2-3/4”, cutting from corner to corner to create triangles. Use one of the triangles.
  • Cut an oval from paper using the second-smallest Custom Cutting System Oval Pattern, cutting on the outside with the Red Blade. Cut oval in half, creating the base of the sail boat.
  • Cut a piece of paper to measure 1” x 1-1/2”. Gently fold one end, angling scissors, cut to create the “flag”. 
  • Cut a piece of paper to measure 1/4” x 5” as the mast.
  • Adhere these pieces to the layout to create the sailboat.

Step 8: Adhere stickers and embellishments, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
