Feel the Flower Power With This Sunflower Scrapbook Layout

Did you know that the National Garden Bureau designated 2021 as the “Year of the Sunflower?!” On that note, here at CM, sunflowers are the main design factor for many aspects of the Croptoberfest 2021 collection! It’s hard to not love these brilliant blooms — they radiate a cheeriness and positivity and they grow strong and tall. Sunflowers earned their common name because their big, joyful heads follow the movement of the sun across the sky easy to west, and then returns at night to face the east, ready again for the morning sun (aka, heliotropic). Turn your direction to sunflowers this autumn — from the massive meadows, pretty pastures and fertile fields — and partake in some bloomin’ photo ops. And after — make this sunflowers scrapbook layout!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of fully blossomed sunflower paper as the base of the layout. (Tip: To save paper and reduce bulk, you may wish to cut out the inside section of this piece using the 12-inch Trimmer and creating a 1″ frame.)

Step 2: Cut a piece of marigold dots paper to measure 10-1/2″ x 10-1/2″ and adhere to the base piece.

Step 3: Cut a piece of green plaid paper to measure 10″ x 10″ and adhere to the marigold dots piece.

Step 4: Cut two photo mats from the marigold dots paper to measure 4″ x 4″. Cut and adhere photos to the mats that measure 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and adhere to the bottom half of the layout.

Step 5: Cut a photo mat from the woodgrain paper to measure 6″ x 4″. Cut and adhere a photo that measures 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and adhere to the upper-left section of the layout.

Step 6: To create the photo corners, first cut 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ squares. Then, cut in half diagonally from corner to corner. Adhere to the photo corners as desired.

Step 7: Cut a piece of brown speckled paper to measure 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ for the journal box.

Step 8: Cut two pieces of patterned paper to measure approximately 2-1/2″ x 1″ & 2″ x 3/4″. Gently fold one end, angling the scissors to cut, and create a flag in each piece of paper. Adhere these pieces slightly under the large photo mat and overlapping the journal box.

Step 9: Journal as desired with a Brown Dual-Tip Pen.
