This Wedding Cake Scrapbook Idea Is Really Fun-fetti To Make

Wedding cakes have their treatable roots in Ancient Rome when marriage ceremonies concluded with a not-so-sugary barley bread being broke over the bride’s head for luck and fertility. Over time, this tradition transitioned into stacked confections with sugar and frosting that we know of today, and can be as unique as the couple — from white piping that echoes the elaborate embroidery of the dress to fondant figurines, marzipan roses and real flowers. Even more so, modern edible alternatives are a trendy way to show off the couple’s personality, like donut stacks, macaron towers, mini cupcakes or cake pops, wheels of cheese, sundae bars and more. Well, today we are slicing into a more traditional approach with a classic three-tiered wedding cake scrapbook idea from blog contributor Sachiyo Omitsu — it’s really fun-fetti to make!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of Black Solid Cardstock as the base of this layout.

Step 2: Cut a piece of the painterly brushstrokes designer paper to measure 2″ x 2″, 3-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ and 5″ x 3″.

Step 3: Cut the framing roses laser-cut paper as shown above.

Step 4: Assemble the wedding cake as shown. Trim the excess piece with a scissors.

Step 5: Cut “And they lived happily ever after” variety mat to measure 4″ x 3″.

Step 6: Adhere mats, stickers and embellishments, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
