Swim In Complementary Creativity With This Water Themed Scrapbook Layout

Here’s a quick art class refresher — complementary shades are the pairings across that hue-tiful rainbow wheel. Complementary pairs are red and green, yellow and purple and orange and blue… which the latter is a prime example of how pleasing and pretty they are together in this water themed scrapbook layout! See for yourself how opulent oranges and bold blues make project stand out.

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of White Solid Cardstock (or a White Refill Page) as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut a 3″ x 12″ strip of wavy lines vellum paper and adhere to the right edge of the layout. Put the sunrise designer paper in the 12-inch Decorative Trimmer and align with the right edge at the 1/2″ mark on the far right of the trimmer. Cut a wavy edge. Adhere on the layout.

Step 3: Mount a 4″ x 6″ photo on a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ variety mat and adhere on the layout. Cut two 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ journal box variety mats in half. Crop a photo to 2-3/4″ x 4″ and mount on one mat. Adhere both on the layout as shown.

Step 4: Cut an 8″ x 1-1/8″ strip of butter yellow fishes tonal paper. Adhere near the bottom of the layout. Adhere a waves laser-cut border on top and place a lily pad border sticker along the seam. Trim edges using Micro-Tip Scissors.

Step 5: Add stickers and embellishments, popping some up with Foam Squares for added dimension.

Step 6: Journal as desired.
