Whether you’re lighting up the night on New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year, Fourth of July or even occasions like sporting events, weddings and birthday bashes, fireworks can add a celebratory, crowd-pleasing and kaboomin’ element to end the event with a beautiful bang! Want to add some flare to your layouts? Then ignite your imagination with these scrapbook borders featuring the Fireworks Punch (available for purchase through June 30 at noon CT [AU: 30 June at midnight AET], however, the punch is expected later this summer [AU: winter]).

Step 2: Cut a 12” x 2” strip with red twinkle paper and adhere above the row of dots on the bottom of the border. Adhere a starry border sticker along the top edge of the red strip.

Step 2: Using the Fireworks Punch, punch five shapes with Blue, Dark Green and Canary Solid Cardstock. Adhere as shown.

Full Of Wonder Border

Scrapbooking border with a night scene paper background, owl embellishment and firework punch cutouts.

Step 1: Cut a 3-1/4” x 12” strip with castle wall paper for the base. Cut a 2-3/4” x 12” strip with dark starry night sky paper and adhere on the base.

Step 2: Using the inside edge of the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern and the Green Blade, cut two circles with lightning bolts paper and two circles with blue diagonal stripes paper. Adhere evenly spaced and alternating hues on the border.

Step 3: Using the Fireworks Punch, punch two shapes with lightning bolts paper (allowing space between punches) and two shapes with blue diagonal stripes paper. Align the medium Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern over the punched out paper shape (negative space). Cut out the circle using the Blue Blade. Repeat with all four shapes. Adhere the circle shapes on the border, alternating hues.

Step 4: Adhere three of the punched out fireworks shapes behind the circles as shown.

Step 5: Adhere stickers using Foam Squares for added dimension.

Magical Moments Border

Magic-themed scrapbooking border with firework punch cutouts and stickers.

Step 1: Cut a 3-5/8” x 12” strip with maroon stripes paper for the base. Cut a 3-1/4” x 12” strip with White Solid Cardstock and adhere on the base.

Step 2: Cut a 4” x 12” strip with Black Solid Cardstock*. Cut a 4” x 12” strip with lightning bolts paper. Place lightning bolts strip on the 13×13 Custom Cutting System Mat. Using a ruler and pencil, draw a line from the 6” mark on one long side to the 6-1/4” mark on the other side. Continue drawing “rays” from near the middle of one side radiating up and down on the other side, using the photos below as a guide. Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut apart on the lines, reassembling them on the Black Solid Cardstock strip. Remove every other strip*. Adhere remaining strips. Cut off 1/2″ from each side, leaving a 3” x 12” piece. Adhere on the border.

*You may wish to create a second border for the opposite side of a two-page layout since you’re only using half of your “rays”. Simply cut a second 4” x 12” strip of Black Solid Cardstock. When reassembling your cut rays onto the borders, place every other one onto the second cardstock strip.

Step 3: Adhere a castle sticker on the middle of the border as shown. Adhere the “Magical moments” sticker using Foam Squares for added dimension.

Step 4: Using the Fireworks Punch, punch three shapes with White Solid Cardstock and two with Crimson Solid Cardstock. Adhere on the border as shown.

  1. Very Cute and clever ideas with the punch, but the firework punch designs lacks. Creative memories could have done a better job on the design. It looks like a sun, but could have a cascading effect for the next design for next year, Just my opinion.

  2. Q. Love this design, but in step 2 should that be a 3″ wide strip? A 4″ would be wider than the base.
