Have you had a chance to check out Mi Amor yet? It’s an absolutely beautiful product collection that will be so much fun to play with come Valentine’s Day with all the fun photos that can be used to create a layout.
Today I’m actually going to share a project with you where I’m working on getting a head-start on Valentine’s Day! As soon as I saw the Mi Amor Stickers and Embellishments I knew it would be so fun to whip up some little Valentine’s Day cards. The best part is, I was able to create 12 little 3″ X 3″ cards using only two border stickers and two of the embellishments – leaving tons of goodies left over for my layouts once I take some cute photos on February 14th! Let me show you…
Supplies used to complete these cards were:
- Mi Amor Paper Pack
- Mi Amor Embellishments
- Mi Amor Stickers
- 12″ X 12″ Solid Cranberry Cardstock
- All Purpose Scissors
- 12″ Trimmer
- The Tape Runner
- Foam Squares
Fist I started by creating a template by cutting out a heart on some scrap paper. To make it symmetrical I folded my paper in half and cut a half heart along the spine – it’s perfect every time!
Then I took my patterned paper and and traced the template on the backside of the paper. I cut it out using our All-Purpose Scissors. I then repeated this for each card – since there are 12 designs in the paper pack, you could create 12 unique looking hearts if you like!
Next, I went through the embellishments and found these super cute heart chains – there is one in red and one in black. I used my scissors and cut the hearts apart so that I could use them individually as embellishments on the cards.
Then, I cut apart the border strips that read “Happy Valentines Day” and cut a flag end on one side of each of the greetings.
Finally, it was time to play! I had so much fun mixing and matching all of the patterned hearts with the embellishment hearts and flagged sticker greetings! I used some of the little enamel hearts to add another layer to the cards and voila – super cute Valentine’s Day cards whipped up in a snap!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today – happy creating!
