Happy Earth Day: #CMEarthDay Sketch Challenge
As scrapbookers, we love our collections of embellishments, designer papers, stickers and mats. We don’t always use our collections all at once, and we may or may not have a large collection of scraps we’ve accumulated over time. So, in honor of Earth Day, we have an eco-friendly challenge that’ll help you work through those scraps and help the planet! Keep reading to learn how you can participate in the #CMEarthDay Sketch Challenge!
Learn about the efforts Creative Memories is taking to reduce our carbon footprint and which of our products are recyclable in the video below!

TAKE ON THE #CMEARTHDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE
How to Participate:
- Review the sketch challenges below in this post and/or in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group.
- Use up your accumulated scraps to create a layout(s) inspired by the sketch. (You can also refer to the step-by-step instructions linked below each layout if you’d prefer to do it that way instead of following the sketch!)
- Snap a photo of your finished project(s) and share it in a new post in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group by Sunday, April 28, at 11:59pm CT (Australia: 29 April at 2:59pm AET) with hashtag #CMEarthDay1, #CMEarthDay2 or #CMEarthDay3 for the chance to win a prize. We’ll have 3 lucky winners total — 1 winner per sketch.
- Winners will be announced in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group on Thursday, May 2, at noon CT.
And what can you win?

Winners will get a prize pack filled with recyclable products, including a Designer Paper Pack of choice, Cardstock Pack of choice, 12×12 White Refill Pages and Protectors (16/pk), Mat Pack of choice and a Tape Runner Refill!
NOTE: The Prize Pack will be awarded to 1 participant for each sketch challenge, for a total of 3 winners. We will award the prizes randomly, but to win, it must be evident you used the sketches we provided as inspiration to create a project using predominantly Creative Memories products. Prize winners will be announced on Thursday, May 2, at noon CT.

Why does the video say that the liner of the tape runner is recyclable but the text says it is not? Which is correct?
I narrowed down my stash and gave some away to my local library. :) Also, some items I use aren’t actually “scrapbooking supplies,” per se. I’ve used my kids’ schoolwork as a background or I’ve fussy cut items from it. Also I’ve fussy cut elements from Mail ad books, even food packaging (if it hasn’t touched the food, like the outside of a pack of yogurts). I use packaging from scrapbook supplies, like the cover of a paper pad or the sheet that shows what die cuts or stickers come in a pack. Sometimes I use the sheet as-is, other times I fussy cut it.
